A Jam-Packed Repackage
To be perfectly honest, repackage is in my possession only because I collect BTS albums. But truth be told, I listen to Love Yourself: Her and Love Yourself: Tear more than I listen to Answer. Mostly, this is because I’m used to the sequencing of the former albums and prefer it to the rearrangement of songs on Answer.
That being said, the number of new solo and group songs on Answer compensates for the alternate tracklist arrangement.
I was fortunate enough to see BTS in New Jersey in May 2019 for the Love Yourself, Speak Yourself tour, and RM’s “Trivia 承: Love” performance was a highlight for me. I already loved the studio version, and it’s one of my favorites on this repackage. Even by himself on the stage, RM oozes charisma and commands the stage. This quality really shines through on the song.
Suga’s “Trivia 轉: Seesaw” is another one of my favorites. This song rests much more in the pop category than we are used to from Suga, but he carries it off so well due to his exceptional musicality and well-crafted melodies.
The full-length versions of both “Serendipity” and “Epiphany” are true revelations, and I am blessed to have heard them in my lifetime.
As I mentioned in the video, I’m a bit miffed that my favorite tracks from Her and Tear weren’t included in this repackage. “Pied Piper,” “134340,” and “Paradise” were left off of Answer, but I suspect it is a marketing ploy to encourage people to buy the other two albums.
Anyway, I share much more in the video. Tell me what you think about Love Yourself: Answer in the comments below.
