It’s Not That Bad

You know, I have defended DC from various detractors since Survivor. I like Destiny Fulfilled, but I can see how some may not.
First of all, it’s full of ballads. I for one, love ballads, so the ballads don’t bother me. But if DC had added a few more up-tempo numbers, this album would be much more balanced.
Michelle has a good blending voice, and she sounds tolerable on her own CDs, but when she sings a solo on this album, she really sounds out of place, especially when contrasted with Beyonce and Kelly who sound so much alike.
Stand out songs are “Lose My Breath” (even though the lyrics are weak), “Is She the Reason,” “If,” “Free,” “Through With Love,” and (I don’t care what others say) “Love” is a beautiful song, with a mellow vibe and exquisite harmonies.
I bought the Wal-Mart special addition CD with bonus tracks including “My Man,” “2 Step,” which is hot and “What’s it Gonna Be?” Both make up for the fact there are so few songs on the CD.
On a side note, is it me, or is “Girl” annoying? “I’m your girl, you’re my girl, he your girl, she your girl, they your girl, girl, girl, girl”–I mean, REALLY!
